Most Haunted at Bodelwyddan Castle
Sitting around a small table in the castle’s cellar
three men asked if there was anybody there. The table began to rock
slightly and they knew that contact with a spirit had been made.
The three
men were Karl Beattie, Richard Felix and Stuart Torevell from
LIVINGtv’s Most Haunted. The location was Bodelwyddan Castle,
North Wales. The celebrated TV programme has filmed at many reputedly
haunted locations around the UK and the crew has experienced a number of
paranormal phenomena. However, what happened next in the cellar was truly
shocking and something the three men had never experienced before.
As Richard was asking the spirit to leave, the table
jumped towards him, and slid about a foot across the floor. The men were
so shaken that they decided to stop the ‘table tilting’ experiment and
go back upstairs. Richard was very emotional and Karl and Stuart were both
speechless.
Mediums Derek Acorah and David Wells did separate
walks around the Castle with presenter Yvette Fielding and came up with
some interesting information, which they picked up from the residual
spirit energies. Derek was able to pick up on a lady who he said had been
murdered in the seventeenth century and her bones put behind a
fireplace. Could these be the bones that were found in 1829 by then owner,
Sir John Hay Williams? Both mediums came up with the name Williams (the
Williams family were at Bodelwyddan Castle from 1690 to the 1900s.)
Other occurrences included somebody breathing in
Yvette’s ear in the Sculpture Gallery, a rattling door and shadows,
noises and a light anomaly in the cellar. The cellar seemed to be where
most of the activity was coming from.
It was a very interesting and exciting night,
although after seeing the footage on the programme some members of staff
at Bodelwyddan Castle won’t be too happy about going into the cellar!
This episode was part of series 5 and was first
broadcast on LIVINGtv on 30th November 2004.
