| Lifelong Learning We encourage adult education tutors, U3A, WEA and NADFAS organisers, overseas groups, university and college lecturers and all other group organisers to use our service. Self-guided groups are welcome and should contact us to arrange a visit. We offer a number of themed tours as well as introductory or specific talks. Each year we run "Inspired By…" an art competition for adult learners. We also offer special events such as the Gwanwyn festival, artist talks, workshops and demonstrations. |
Schools Learning is at the heart of Bodelwyddan Castle. The fine collection of 19th century portraits and magnificently restored Victorian surroundings, together with our programme of special temporary exhibitions offers pupils a uniquely inspiring and creative learning environment. Step outside and the parkland with First World War practice trenches, woodland and orchard designed to encourage biodiversity, and formal garden with maze also provides an engaging learning experience. Bodelwyddan Castle offers a range of specifically designed education programmes, activities and resources for primary school groups. Our main curriculum areas are History and Art and the Curriculum Cymreig, although we also offer resources to support the Physical Education curriculum. Our taught sessions and workshops for Foundation Stage to Key Stage 2 are led by a specialist freelance team of artists, actors and teachers or our own museum educators. We also provide free supporting resources for self-directed visits. CPD sessions and placements are available for teachers to introduce any aspect of the historic collections and special temporary exhibitions. |
