Gardens

The Castle is set within magnificent parkland and a formal garden originally designed by Mawson in 1910. There are also beautiful views of the Clwydian hills and the coastline from the Castle terrace.

The Castle grounds are open to the public and include formal gardens, woodland walks, historical sites, nature trails, and orienteering courses. Occasional special events are also arranged.

The Wisteria Arch, situated in the formal garden

A particular feature is the area of practice trenches dating from the First World War.

A Children's play area and picnic site are available (except during certain events). Tea and refreshments are available in Caffi Castell.
