Groups - Booking and Prices
How to bookAdvance booking is essential for all groups, for both self-guided visits and groups who wish to book a talk or tour. We normally require a minimum of two weeks notice to book a visit and four weeks for Specific Talks. If you visit without pre-booking, we cannot guarantee that there will be space for your group. To book please call us on 01745 584060, with the following information:
• preferred date and time of your visit and a range of possible alternatives
• the number of adults and leaders in your group
• the subject you would like a talk or tour on
If no one from the Education team is available to answer your call, please leave your contact details with a date and time when you can be contacted. Once you have made a booking we will send you a confirmation letter. If you are having a taught session you will need to read, sign and return the group confirmation form. Please bring your copy of your confirmation letter with you on the day of your visit.
Prices
Pre-booked groups of 12 or more people are entitled to a discount. All talk and tour prices are inclusive of admission to the house, grounds and special exhibitions.

Further information
All talks and tours are approximately an hour long. The Historic Garden and Lowther College tours require walking outdoors, mostly on even paths, although there may be a small number of steps. If your group has mobility needs, please discuss your requirements when booking. When accompanying groups of 15 or more, coach drivers and tour operators can benefit from free entry to the site and a complimentary meal and drink in our café, Caffi Castell. We reserve the right to charge a fee for non-attendance or cancellation at short notice without good reason. Please be punctual and ready to start at your booked time, especially if you are having a talk.
